JewelMak Gives
Back!
The environmental
welfare of our planet is an ever growing issue that needs to be addressed and
resolved. Such a task can seem overwhelming, but every effort helps. That
is why JewelMak has joined in the fight to preserve our environment by
officially going "Green".
JewelMak fine jewelry aims to be a completely
eco-friendly operation by 2015.. We are currently transitioning into using only
recycled gold and silver as well as natural gemstones by asking all our vendors
and suppliers to sign metal and gemstone pledges to assure their products are of
a recycled and/or responsibly mined source. JewelMak has signed with the No Dirty
Gold campaign and the Bristol Bay pledge to ensure the use of natural and safely
mined materials while protecting the natural environment.

This transition will allow JewelMak to continue to recreate its
signature looks using natural stones, metals and materials. Our upcoming styles
are greatly influenced by, or in itself, a reflection of the ocean: the life,
colors, and beauty that can be found there. We are excited to explore the
possibilities in using stones that may be new to our line such as larimar and
ocean jasper, as well as continuing to use cultured pearls, Canadian nephrite
jade, agate, and non-conflict diamonds that follow the Kimberly Process as in
the past.
JewelMak is also directing its efforts towards helping
environmental charities such as charity: water. Proceeds from our new
"Ocean Reef" grouping in sterling silver will go to support charity:
water and help raising funds to build fresh-water wells for people in
developing nations. According to charity: water, one dollar can provide a
person with clean and safe drinking water for one year. We hope that our
proceeds from this grouping will provide enough potable water for many people in
so many years to come. It is a small step that we at JewelMak feel is in the
right path to strive for.
Help for Haiti!
The JewelMar
collection is also involved with JewelMak’s charity side. At the onset of the
earthquake in Haiti, JewelMak donated $500 to the William J. Clinton Haiti
Relief Fund. They chose this foundation for its global causes on a personal
level and also for the optimal monetary distribution the foundation can
exercise. Due to the ongoing effect this tragedy has had on our global
community, JewelMak is continuing to donate $1 of every piece sold from the
JewelMar collection to charity and relief efforts towards Haiti.
